House and first baby
Our first house and baby
Renovation and baby laughed into the world
You have to give up your apartment, I hear a voice inside me say, we had been looking for a house for about 8 months and with baby no. 1 in the womb, about halfway to the due date I think it might be a bit crazy and then not knowing where we should go after that.
1 month passed and I felt the pressure, you have to give up your apartment it sounded inside me, then I thought it was time to share it with Søren and he agreed to give it up, even without us knowing what we would do.
It was now July and we were allowed to move in with Søren’s parents, still looking for a house and baby due on Oct. 5. We felt good at home with Søren’s parents up in their sky, but the thought of not having our own when the baby came made me sad, so I asked my Father in heaven for help.
I remember 2 things in particular from the time we lived with Søren’s parents: one that I got lice, the biggest I’ve ever seen and the other that Søren made fun of me and made me laugh out loud, so I tripped around and asked him not to, because I was about to pee in my pants, it only made him keep going and in my desperation I saw a bucket and that became the emergency solution.
Many houses were looked at and also 2 were offered, we put it in God’s hands, and when our offer was rejected we took it as a no, We really wanted me to be able to go home with the baby, looking back at the 2 houses we offered, it couldn’t have been done, so thank God for his wisdom.
A house we had not noticed before was after a year reduced to 595,0000,- As soon as we saw the house, even though it was not our style, we saw the possibilities of changing it. So for the first time came the inner peace we had been waiting for, which only God can give.
Sold to us, there were 3 of us who were interested in the house and the real estate agent said that the seller had chosen us, out of the 3, how much you can put into it I don’t know.
Anyway, Søren could now get started, and he did, the same day we got the keys around mid-August.
He worked hard, went to work and then went out to the house to fix things, soon the baby was coming, we didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl, but I have to admit that I wanted a boy, no matter what we would be happy 🙂
For some reason, we also just asked our Father in heaven if He could fix a pipe leak so we could get some things fixed in the house for free. To our great surprise, we got an answer to our prayers after about 4 years of living there. It turned out to be new underfloor heating in the kitchen and hallway for free and a new kitchen for little money.
15 days over time
and then he came!
It was Oct. 5th, which I was scheduled for and we weren’t ready for the baby to come, family came to help and friends from church to bless the house before we moved in.
I was 15 days overdue and we still weren’t quite done, but almost there. I was a bit overdue, but didn’t want to be started, thinking that my Father in Heaven had control of when it would be and since everything looked good for the scan, I was allowed to wait longer.
Phew, it was midnight and the last picture was put up on the wall, we were ready, but also very ready to go to bed, oh something started to hurt and feel different, I think I got a miscarriage I said to Søren and filled with wild excitement and huge fatigue, it took, however to our great surprise it took 48 hours, once morphine, a blockade, a couple of sermons to different midwives we met in the living room and a joke from a midwife that I laughed at, which resulted in her telling me that when I laughed, the baby’s head came out, so I started laughing completely fake, it was contagious around me, so now I, Søren and 3 other midwives were laughing. And literally laughing to this world, we held our lovely boy Elias in our arms.
Selling a house, who should we choose?
It took about 5 years to renovate the house.
After about 5 years we felt it was time to sell our renovated house, the real estate agent from town came and valued it at 995,000,- luckily my mother was visiting and suggested we get more offers from other real estate agents.
But it could also be confusing, because who should we choose, So we asked our Father in heaven for help. Help us choose between the 3 real estate agents we will have visiting.
The next one who came was a young guy who seemed to have it all under control, at least we should think, he did a lot of things to be allowed to sell our house and spent a lot of time on it, made BBR corrections and other documents in order for us, came up with one tip after another, valued our house at 950,000,- but said that we should try to sell it for 995,000,- so a bit of an obvious choice, after everything he had done for us.
The last real estate agent was coming and I was on my way home from playroom, with our now 3 lovely boys, to meet him, who was lovely and quiet in the car and I was talking to my Father in heaven in my mind about the matter, Father, what do you think we should put our house up for sale for? Immediately I saw 1,098,000,- for me.
This real estate agent was the one of the 3 who had spent the least time on the matter.
He took out the pliers and just as he had thrown out the appraisal, a high hope of YES! came from me, I think he was a little surprised by my reaction because I didn’t tell him that just a few minutes before I had seen this number with my own eyes.
So when I later told Søren about it all, we decided that it must be a direct answer to the choice of real estate agent from God.
The bid feels completely wrong.
We had to ask God again!
The house had been on the market for about 2 months before a serious bid came on the table, 980,000,- was offered, but it felt completely wrong. We had always experienced that the best thing we could do was ask God, so we did and got the number 1,060,000,-
Oh, it was almost too much, a few hours had passed and the real estate agent had got everyone talking, he had now gotten them up to 1,050,000,- and said that it was not certain that they would go any further, then we came up with 1,060,000,- was our minimum price and to our great joy it was also sold at that price.
Later we told the real estate agent the story that we believed that he had been chosen by God for the task, as a family we were also allowed to pray for and bless him in his office, before we had to sign and get the good news that we had approx. earned 400,000 on the sale of our house. All glory to God and the blessing to us.
This meant that we now had the opportunity to get a bigger place. Even though our new house only cost 1 million and we had pocket money in hand, the bank was skeptical about lending us, as it doesn’t seem realistic in their eyes how we can make it run around with an income. We can only give God the glory and gladly accept the blessing 🙂
We used the money to pay off as much of the house as possible and think it’s an exciting journey to see how God provides for us!
The new house we got is definitely a scrap to castle project and we have only just begun, a bit like starting over with bigger things we have to take care of, the bills are bigger and the projects bigger, but God is the same and rich in blessings we are in Him, – Too blessed to be stressed-
So we look forward to documenting it here on the website and also at some point writing about how the journey to the new house was, which was full of trials and good surprises.
The glory goes to our Father in heaven and we get the blessing:)
