Let’s stop and think about the role of mom and dad, not the cleaning and the chores, but the presence, the love and the patience we can give them.

Maybe you won’t be able to go through all the points, but reading them can be a good reflection and just being conscious and think about what we say and do can help us break bad patterns in everyday life. 

 

The 28 challenges are for mom and dad to do 🙂 

 

It’s not about being perfect and of course it’s good to be aware of your mistakes, but don’t let it define you.

Week 1

Divided into one week at a time :)

Day 1-7

 

  1. Give your child 3 hugs today
  2. Today focus on patience
  3. Think of one thing you can do together this week.
  4. Remember; That being a Mom is a gift
  5. Today pray for wisdom to parent
  6. Tell yourself, he/she is only _ years old, still just a child having to learn, I am the Teacher.
  7. Imagine being your child’s age and how you felt.

Week 2

The most important work you will ever do, will be within the walls of your own home. - Harold B. Lee

  1. Today focus on love
  2. Say something encouraging at least 2 times, possibly use the affirming words linked here.
  3. Buy something they really like
  4. Today focus on joy
  5. Leave a sweet note, message (for the little ones; a drawing with a heart, for example, that you explain what it means.
  6. No critical words about the child
  7. Imagine your child being 25 years old

Week 3

  1. Consciously think about smiling and making loving eye contact today
  2. Laugh with your child today
  3. Forgive yourself when you make mistakes and get back up, take 1 minute to bless your child.
  4. Think of a good quote and read it several times today.
  5. Ask how he/she is feeling today
  6. Ask what makes him/her happy, or what he/she would like to do with you.
  7. Let your child tell you what he/she likes best about you, take some time to talk and listen to the child.

Week 4

You will never look back in life and think " I spent to much time with my kids" - Kimberly Mcreod

  1. Find 1 thing you are grateful for about your child.
  2. Ask what he/she likes to eat, maybe make this dish together.
  3. Focus on the word peace today
  4. Give a good hug and kiss on the cheek.
  5. Spend 5 minutes being interested in your child’s play or something else.
  6. Think about being kind and helpful today
  7. Then it’s time for a good portion of ice cream, talk about which flavors are best 🙂
